Public registration may not always be available. Taleproof may require an invitation or may provision accounts only for selected users.

If you receive an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information
  • Keep your credentials secure
  • Use only your own account
  • Notify Taleproof promptly of suspected unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for activity conducted through your account, except where prohibited by law

You may not sell, transfer, share, or sublicense access to your account.

Taleproof may reject, suspend, or revoke an invitation or account where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, service integrity, or violation of these Terms.

5. Your Content and Experience

“User Content” means resumes, career information, interview responses, audio, transcripts, stories, drafts, notes, feedback, and other material you submit to Taleproof.

You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant Taleproof a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, process, transmit, reproduce, modify, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the service
  • Generate and organize requested outputs
  • Maintain and secure the service
  • Provide support
  • Diagnose technical problems
  • Comply with law
  • Enforce these Terms

This license ends when the relevant content is deleted from active Taleproof systems, except for limited backup, security, legal, or compliance retention described in the Privacy Policy.

You represent that:

  • You have the right to provide the User Content
  • Your User Content does not unlawfully infringe another person’s rights
  • You will not knowingly submit false, fraudulent, or unlawfully obtained information
  • You will not submit confidential employer, customer, colleague, or third-party information unless you have authority to do so
  • You are responsible for reviewing and deciding whether to use any resulting output

Taleproof does not claim ownership of your professional experience or achievements.

6. Accuracy and AI-Generated Output

Taleproof uses automated and artificial-intelligence-assisted systems.

Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, misleading, unsuitable, or inconsistent. Taleproof does not independently verify the truth of your resume, career information, interview responses, or generated stories.

You are responsible for:

  • Reviewing outputs
  • Correcting inaccuracies
  • Ensuring that stories reflect your actual experience
  • Deciding whether an output is suitable for a particular interview
  • Complying with employer, interviewer, and applicable professional rules
  • Obtaining professional advice where appropriate

You must not present invented achievements, responsibilities, decisions, or results as true.

Taleproof does not guarantee that any output will satisfy a hiring manager, interviewer, employer, recruiter, or evaluation process.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use Taleproof to:

  • Break the law or encourage unlawful activity
  • Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, experience, or achievements
  • Create fraudulent employment materials
  • Impersonate another person
  • Upload information you do not have a right to use
  • Violate an employer’s, interviewer’s, or third party’s confidentiality rights
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, or harm another person
  • Generate or distribute malicious software
  • Probe, scan, attack, bypass, or disrupt Taleproof systems or security
  • Evade access controls, rate limits, invitation restrictions, or account limits
  • Use bots or automated methods to scrape or overload the service without written permission
  • Reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Taleproof without written permission
  • Use Taleproof as undisclosed live assistance during an interview where doing so violates interview rules or misrepresents your independent performance

Taleproof may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable measures to protect the service and other users.

8. Taleproof Intellectual Property

Taleproof and its licensors own all rights in the service other than User Content, including:

  • Software
  • Interfaces
  • Designs
  • Branding
  • Logos
  • Documentation
  • Workflows
  • Prompts and system configurations
  • Databases and data structures
  • Compilations
  • Other proprietary materials

These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Taleproof for its intended purpose.

No rights are granted except those expressly stated.

“Taleproof,” its logo, and related brand elements may not be used without prior written permission.

9. Feedback

If you provide ideas, suggestions, evaluations, or other feedback about Taleproof, you grant Taleproof a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

This does not transfer ownership of your private career content.

10. Communications

By joining the early-access list, you agree to receive communications concerning:

  • Signup confirmation
  • Taleproof access
  • Product and launch updates
  • Introductory pricing
  • Important service or policy notices

You may unsubscribe from marketing and launch communications using the unsubscribe link in an email.

You may still receive essential account, security, transactional, or legal messages if you later become a Taleproof user.

11. Fees, Paid Access, and Taxes

Some Taleproof features may be offered for a fee.

Before charging you, Taleproof will display applicable pricing and material purchase terms. You agree to pay charges you authorize, along with applicable taxes.

Any subscription period, renewal terms, cancellation terms, refund policy, or introductory pricing terms presented at purchase will form part of these Terms.

Except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase, charges are non-refundable after the relevant service or access period begins.

Taleproof may change future pricing but will not retroactively change a completed purchase.

12. Third-Party Services

Taleproof relies on third-party services for functions such as hosting, authentication, email, security, analytics, infrastructure, and AI processing.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Taleproof is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control, but this does not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Service Changes and Availability

Taleproof is under active development.

Taleproof may:

  • Add, change, limit, suspend, or remove features
  • Modify workflows or output formats
  • Limit the number or type of users
  • Conduct maintenance
  • Correct errors
  • End a beta or early-access program
  • Discontinue all or part of the service

Taleproof does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability.

Where reasonably practical, Taleproof will provide notice of material changes that significantly affect paid users.

14. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Taleproof at any time.

You may request account or data deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

Taleproof may suspend or terminate access if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your use presents a security, legal, or operational risk
  • Required by law
  • Payment remains due
  • An early-access or beta program ends
  • Continuing to provide access is no longer commercially or technically reasonable

Where appropriate, Taleproof may provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, feedback, disclaimers, liability limitations, dispute provisions, and accrued payment obligations.

15. Privacy

The Taleproof Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, shared, and retained.

By using Taleproof, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in that Policy and applicable law.

16. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taleproof is provided “as is” and “as available.”

Taleproof disclaims implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted operation.

Taleproof does not warrant that:

  • Outputs will be accurate or complete
  • Taleproof will identify every relevant experience
  • Any story will be suitable for every interview
  • Use of Taleproof will result in an interview, offer, promotion, compensation increase, or other outcome
  • The service will always be available or free of defects
  • User Content will never be lost

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taleproof and Tom Bruckbock will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, employment opportunities, income, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to Taleproof.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Taleproof and Tom Bruckbock for all claims arising from or related to the service will not exceed the greater of:

  • The amount you paid to Taleproof during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • US$100

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other matters protected by mandatory law.

18. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Taleproof and Tom Bruckbock from third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from:

  • Your unlawful use of Taleproof
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • User Content you were not authorized to provide
  • Your infringement of another person’s rights
  • Fraudulent or materially misleading information you knowingly submit or distribute

This section does not apply to the extent a claim resulted from Taleproof’s own unlawful conduct or where such an obligation cannot legally be imposed on you.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before filing a formal claim, you and Taleproof agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. A notice should describe the issue and requested resolution and be sent to:

privacy@taleproof.com

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, disputes arising from these Terms or Taleproof will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and each party consents to their jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory, non-waivable consumer rights or the right to bring a claim in another forum when the law where you live requires it.

20. Changes to These Terms

Taleproof may update these Terms as the service changes.

Material changes will be communicated as required by law, such as through the website, email, or an in-product notice.

Updated Terms will become effective on the date stated in the updated version. Where required, Taleproof will request your consent before applying material changes.

21. General Terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and Taleproof concerning the service, except for additional written purchase or beta terms that expressly apply.

If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Taleproof’s failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

You may not assign these Terms without Taleproof’s written consent. Taleproof may assign them in connection with a business transfer, restructuring, or change in operator, subject to applicable law.

Headings are for convenience only.
